Innovation consulting - any insight into this?
I'm curious about inno consulting. Curious if anyone has any insight on how the diff consulting firms are, like McKinsey (yes, they do innovation consulting), what the job descriptions are - like, the actual work, and related salaries. It really seems so diversified and unclear when I search online.
I'd steer clear of calling it innovation per the knuckledragger above. It's a very charged term. If you're actually in innovation and understand the various inter related disciplines spanning from ethnography and experience design to product testing to governance I'd recommend finding where you're most comfortable and marketing yourself as a specialist in that area.
I'm putting together a job description for it, overall the role is digital strategy consulting (product, prototyping, market analysis, and then market testing with customers). This is done for both clients and internal products. That said, a description for "innovation consulting" and the needs involved has been elusive. If there's a better term I'm love to hear it!
Yeah I'd focus on end to end product cycles. If u can get to pre commercializations testing you can market around product to launch.
lol innovation consulting reminds me of those LinkedIn 'influencers' who post stupid shit pretending it's some sage advice.

Look into IDEO's postings. It might have what you're looking for.
That's a great idea, I did that, their postings seem to be manager or creative execution level. I'm focusing a bit more on digital strategy and execution on products for large brands who aren't able to do this themselves. If IDEO had director level posts, that would hit the mark. I appreciate the response, thank you.
