Insights on Culture, wlb & informatics org @Genentech?

I’m interviewing at Genentech for an information systems Analyst role. Any insights on comp, culture, wlb/expectations and the day to day of this role and the informatics org? Happy to provide more details via DM. Seems like a great place to work - prove me wrong. Cheers blinders! #biotech #informatics #cheminformatics #wlb #culture

They don't pay top tier, but I've found pay pretty competitive(TC: 190ish). But, I will say this, I have never worked for nor heard of a company that cares or is as generous to their employees as Genentech is. Bi-Monthly company wide parties(pre-covid, very large and grandious) Annual concert at Oracle Park(past guests include Foo Fighters, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, etc) Most importantly, throughout the pandemic, senior leadership has overly emphasized for us to take care of our family first and work comes second. They have been incredible supportive in every way. Genentech really seems to care and treat employees well. Probably why the average tenure of people on my team is over 10 years...

Lots of people stay at Genentech for a long time, mostly bc of the culture and career options. I don't know what an analyst would make, tbh. If this is a fulltime role, then you're lucky. Usually these are reserved for contractor conversions, unless they're higher level positions. My manager was working 12 hr days at one point, and some work over the weekends. I've rarely done that.

Great company that really cares about it's employees. For pharma and biotech, compensation is top tier. My manager is fantastic but it could be different if your manager is not great.
