The changed the offer RSU to be money value instead of telling you the number of shares now. And the most skeptical thing is you won't know the exact number of shares until May. Which the HR said is when the share commit meet and decide on price per share.

Yeah, that kind of sucks. If IPO happens before May, you may either be very lucky (if price goes down initially which I find unlikely) or very unlucky (if it goes really high) I thought folks were saying that it would be computed based on the valuation on the day you join. Is that not the case?

I got the offer early this month and it stated the number of shares. I didn't accept the offer and joined another company. If OP's contract only states the $$$ of shares, my contact might have been one of the last ones that was giving out # of shares.

IPO definitely happening before May, which may be why they’re withholding finite rsu package amounts
They haven’t filed S1. It usually takes ~3 months from filing S1 to IPO
They might go direct now, not IPO
That sounds like any FAANG. My FAANG offer had a 4 year equity grant in $ amount and the number of shares would be computed at the time of the board meeting after I joined. Number of shares = offer amount / stock price at the time of the meeting. Unless you mean they will readjust your annual equity every year like Stripe will.

Will the board meeting be hold every quarter? So If you just missed the last quarter meeting, you won't know the share number until next quarter?
