Have an offer with Intel. Initial offer Grade6. Have 3+ years relevant experience. Overall 6 years industry experience(3 years in other fields). I feel I don’t have scope for further salary negotiations at Grade 6. What experience does a Grade 7 hire require? Have another onsite interview where the role requires 6 years experience. Is there a better chance to get Grade 7 with that team ? Provided I crack the interview. I have heard Grade 7 is much better in terms of benefits.
Honestly, I wouldn’t come to work at Intel -I certainly wouldn’t choose to work at Intel again.
Same for me; but for many engineers or new grads that cannot pass the hiring bar of FANG, Intel is still a decent 2-tier company to go.
Do you honestly think intel is a descent company? I am not one of the people who has a easy job- I work long, hard hours and get no reward. I agree with Boo- Intel is a bad place to work with horrible management- much lower than 2nd tier.
You deserve a grade 7 based on the # of years of work experience. However if you screwed up the interview and were a "weak hire", they will offer grade 6. If you did well in the interviews, negotiate or walk away if you can. Grade 6 is a huge step down for you. Grade 7 is where you see meaningful( relative to 5/6 ) bonuses. G6 is new grad plus 1/2 years.
What is the base you got for G6? 6+ years experience qualifies for G7, but Intel always tries to low-ball you; unless you have negotiation power, there is not much you can do. Besides, the HM may have limited budget and G6 is the max he can offer. You could potentially get a better offer from another team if it has more budget. Which groups the two teams you interviewed/will interview belong to? G7 has better RSU refresher and APB target (determines the cash bonus you get), but they are really peanuts. TC wise, G7 is better than G6, but I wouldn’t say “much better”.
How much are they offering for G6? Which place n team?
I am being offered base of 108 for Folsom. This is for PEG group. Interviewing for CVCG, PEG
