What is the current situation at Intel? I assume fab/mfg folks are 100% on site. But what about carpet dwellers? I used to work there supporting ATTD in Chandler about 5 years back. WFH was almost unheard of even for those who never ventured onto mfg floor. I am currently looking at new role which supports manufacturing but much less directly (programming/analytics related work)...and hoping they offer at least a hybrid schedule with 2-3 remote days per week. Thoughts, Intel folks? TC: 120k #hybrid #on-site #returntooffice
Most in manufacturing are full wfh still except technicians. Return to work is probably mid next year and will be hybrid 2-3 days/week.
Yep it's mostly hybrid
Extremely flexible.. Intel puts health and safety of employees above anything else. So if your role doesn’t required you to be onsite full time, you can continue to WFH for foreseeable future
Its up to the managers and some have been told by hr to stop trying to get ppl back in.
Are you a manager? The managers at Intel are really missing face to face meetings
Im not a manager but im in a unique position where I deal with management all day
Can any manager here comment on this please? I’m in a dilemma now as I moved out of state a year ago and my lease is almost due. I’m thinking of renewing it but I’m not sure what to do now whether to move back to OR
How did you manage to move out of state without applying for remote work? It could cause a lot of tax issues for you and the company.
I’m not the principal renter in my out of state location and I keep an OR address.
Yes, WFH now, mostly hybrid in the future. @goal, the general policy that I have seen from reasonable managers (and it sound like you have a reasonable, although maybe clueless manager) is that even in hybrid you can work from where you like, but when you need to be onsite Intel will not pay for travel to get there is needed. You need to cover it on your own dime as though you were working locally. As wench points out, however, get it formalized so that you are right with the tax man. Otherwise there are big implications to you and the company if your tax treatment is wrong. Big question will be understanding with your manager how often you will need to be in the office for hybrid.
Forgot to ask: what's the deal with NEO? I remember it used to be a full day, then shortened to 4ish hours before covid. assuming/hoping it's just a few hours online now?

PM is irrelevant role and will die in next 2-3 years.
I’m software in FM and work from home for the foreseeable future. My manager has said he hopes to go 3 days in office if we are ever told to come back
thanks, good to know. I assume Chandler and Ocotillo are same for carpet dwellers?
My understanding is the manager and particular group will have a lot of discretion on their schedule. Assume other offices are similar
