I currently work as a finance director at a local government. I’m significantly underpaid. I have a MBA with a concentration in Accounting. I was recently offered a position at Intel. However the market volatility has me afraid to make the switch Tc-145000

Finance runs this company. Great place to be if you want to be part of what will drive it into the ground eventually!
Bob Swan is gone, and I hate that you stole David Zisner from us. Trust me, he's not a bean counter like Swan. He truly modernized Micron, andi think he'll be good for Intel
Let's hope so! At the operating level, finance still keeps an iron grip on everything. This started before BS even joined as CFO so it will take some time to unwind.
There was a time not too long ago when Intel was safer than a government job. That time has long gone, it’s now a slowly sinking ship. However, if you’re joining them with a mindset to get into big tech and then switch to another big tech in a couple of years it should still be a good plan.
☝️☝️☝️☝️ They have about a $100B to burn through, will take them a few years. The supply chain in south east Asia will come back from this and whatever Intel offers will not be cost competitive to sustain the n number of new fabs that Pat is building. You don't need to worry about all of that - take the better paying job for a few years, learn about a new business (and how it can implode) and then go do the next thing
What happens if China invades Taiwan meanwhile ? 🤔
