who will decide whom to fire? managers still don't know if their team will have layoff and by how much? Had an offer from Intel. I guess it's gone. TC:120k

What org? What type of position? Intel is still hiring G7 to G9 for the latest nm nodes.
Which team, is it TD?
Yes. Can't disclose details.
Be very very careful in joining. No matter what hiring manager says, there is always a chance they might layoff. I have seen ppl joining a new company on Monday and getting laid off the exact next day. .
I know . but as far as I know manager don't have any details about layoff and they are planning mass layoff in 2 weeks
Take risk and don't worry...
It is strange to read posts about what Intel is planning to do ie "mass layoffs in 2 weeks" when that hasn't been stated from any credible source. There are over 20 different business units at Intel, hundreds of executives - who are responsible for running their departments. It isn't Pat or our HR department that is deciding how many heads need to be cut. It is teams of people including executives and senior leaders within the business units working with finance, legal, and HR - looking not just at headcount reductions - at all cost cutting possibilities. This is a crappy situation - but it is not a abnormal business operation. Part of working in corporate - in tech, in a VUCA world.
