Does anyone else find it entirely mind blowing that Intel fails to provide any concise documentation on how to install microcode updates? It’s fucking hilarious that Intel employees themselves have to use Google in the conquest to find how to install ucode updates. I realize this is complicated by each Linux distro having nuanced methods of actually doing it, but who do you think actually maintains those portions of the Linux code? What a complete embarrassment to Intel.
Well, after you install the microcode, you might see the lack of instructions as a feature...

It’s even better that there seems to be a 90% chance you can’t even successfully download the fucking microcode files from Intel’s site.
Big guys like apple google and Amazon received noticed well before. Id imagine small cloud providers are having nightmares because the issue was published before the embargo date. Ask around you will see how small companies are ready for potential hacks.
Bios comes with microcode update ..so just update bios and be done with it ..other way to update microcode is using DLL file in Windows environment ..it's simple
As if the whole world used Windows
Whole world definitely uses BIOS ..
This whole thing is a nightmare for everyone
Except for AMD
Does microcode update require reflashing the BIOS?
That's one way to do it
That works on a single PC. But not at scale of 1000s. You’d think an Amazon guy would know that, or are you in the book department.
Well said op!
