How is intel for network software engineer? Dcg group?
Run.
Run
Can you please elaborate? I am joining as a recent graduate l
Well, if you can't dig up the answer to your question that's been asked many times before on Blind and is relatively time invariant, maybe you belong at Intel after all!
Actually, I did go through posts previously, but considering dpdk and other new innovations in networking, I thought may be the reviews differ for a particular org within intel.
If you're in software anywhere at Intel, you'd be better off anywhere but here. The only reason I'm still here is because cost of living is low (FM) and the promo track for NSG is fairly short compared to other groups
It’s not that bad. Some group/team is awesome, like DCG
If you have other offers you can better consider it. Intel is not really a good place to start for software engineer. Software Engineering teams have more probability to get dissolved in a reorg kind of stuff. Looking for similar nature of job would be difficult. Promos are little difficult As well.
If you like working on system level, virtualized packet processing in user space, DPDK/SRIOV does that. From what I know, the group handles all those virtualized packet processing projects. It's not bad if you want to learn a lot about overlay networks.
