Intel software engineer
Hello guys my friend is going to get an offer as senior / staff software engineer in intel. Would love to have some comp range for software engineer or staff engineer. He has 7 years exp and is thinking total 200k but not sure if it is feasible. Thanks!
It seems very unlike Intel will offer that much for someone with 7 years experience even if it's in the bay area. Your friend is likely to be very disappointed.

I'd guess base+bonus around $130k. rsu would add a few thousand at that grade.

7 yr exp can be higher grades. If it’s 9, then >200k
Rare to hire externally at that GL
If he pushes he might get grade 8, but his first offer will be grade 7. I would say total base+bonus of 150 would be very good.
Grade 6 or 7 isn't going to make 200k. I started as G7 with a PhD and my starting base was 120k. I fail to see how you get an extra 80k off of that lol. Even as SSL 1 that is 26k or so

Grade 7 is no where near 200k. 120 maybe.
Yeah, 6 or 7 is around 100-140k ish.
