Interaction designer - Google - No headcount

I passed HC a few months ago for an Interaction Designer position in Europe. HC gave me L3... I was told that they usually look for L4. My recruiter told me that my application is still open but first we need buy-in from a Hiring Manager to move things forward... it’s been like 6 months and still nothing 🤦🏽‍♂️ Does anyone know when new openings for L3 might kick in? Any Google HM here to help out? 😅

Can you try a different team? You can switch later if Google is your end goal.

I told them that i can relocate to other countries, but all I hear is that there’s no match at the moment. However, they’re expecting many teams to grow soon 😆. I really want to change the job and I’m not sure if Google is worth waiting for it... especially that it’s been so long.

What country were you initially waiting for? Zurich? I heard things look stall in there

Munich, Germany. I told them that I’m interested in Zurich as well but no openings for me neither 😅

I had the exact same story last year around this time for interaction designer. It’s painful waiting, especially when you want to leave current job. I was just in contact with my recruiter about internal headcount, and she said the 2019 has not dropped yet. Last year it was around mid-end of March I started getting fit calls. But still make sure to do your due diligence into team fit... since it took so long for me I jumped at the first opening and it turned out to be a bad fit..(many different factors) and now I have been stuck on this team just waiting for 1 year to hit so I can transfer...

Is this for US or EU? Not dropped yet meaning headcounts not open yet?

Google garm15 Feb 26, 2019

yes, not open/known yet. It is for US. But I would guess the timelines are similar.
