Hypocrisy of Indians
I have another blind account from my previous WITCH like company email. In an experiment, I shared identical content and tagged the same companies from both accounts. Surprisingly, my Microsoft-associated account received ten times more engagement. This experience made me reflect on how recruiters often shortlist CVs. It's evident that candidates from well-known companies like FAANG are sometimes favored, even if their contributions are questionable. This raises the question of whether recruiters should place more emphasis on thorough candidate profile evaluations rather than being swayed solely by a company's reputation. What do you think? #misc #meta #apple #workday #servicenow
We all take cognitive shortcuts otherwise you’d never get anything done. Recruiters ideally want candidates who can clear the interview and what better signal than having cleared Netflix or Apple interview? It doesn’t translate to job success but that’s a really hard thing to predict
This is known, well known. Recruiting is expensive. People who work at big tech are more likely to clear big tech.
I applied through referral a month back but haven't heard back yet. Op, Can I DM you?
Surely you can. But practically referral doesn't work in Microsoft. I referred at least 15 people in the last one year. None of the CV was selected.
