Got some internship offers, both seem pretty good, and I'm sick of interviewing. Which should I pick? Qualtrics (Seattle): + Interns get social events planned by company. + Close to home, get to see friends and pets. + Flights paid for + Weekend trip to Canada? Capital One (McLean): + Slightly more comp + DC and neighborhoods are fun, and a friend from school accepted a return offer there. All the SWEs I talked to from both companies said they liked working there, got to work on interesting and shippable projects with high independence, and had nice WLB. Capital One pays more hourly, but is two weeks shorter, so the difference is $3k in C1's favor when transportation costs are not factored in, and DC vs. Seattle's COL is comparable. Long term goal is to end up in SF, and I'm thinking about doing a PhD. Which would be better careerwise and would give an honest assessment of industry?
I've gotten new grad offer from both companies 2 years ago and it's not even close, qualtrics wins hands down. Capital one doesn't pay stocks. My TC at qualtrics is at least 2 times more than C1 now
I would recommend to join the Tech company. The experience and $ you will receive won’t be close to Capital One.
Qualtrics will have a much higher return offer. Qualtrics hands down
Go with qualtrics
Lmao ew capital one, that’s not going to help on your resume
Thanks everyone for the feedback, just signed with Qualtrics!
Easily Qualtrics. You’ll get paid more long term.

Modi is a legend, will be remembered for centuries to come
One is a tech company one is a bank. People leave banks to work at tech companies. I have never seen the other way.
