Any advise on category management role interview? Is it all STAR format like Amazon or should I expect case studies as well? Any feedback is much appreciated! #chewy #interview
Where to find the chewy “operating principles” and what is a softball business case? Please advise!
When I say softball case, I mean it’s mostly a math exercise with extremely light strategy component. Not like a traditional consulting case that has a a variety of intuitive and counterintuitive “right” answers that you have to logic your way to.
Thanks! I have a panel interview on the next week and looking for any assistance to have a good preparation to it
I had my panel last week and now they want me to talk to the VP. Is that a bad sign? I thought the process was over.
VP time is valuable. It’s probably a good sign.
Good luck
I have one phone screen with a Sr. Director of Eng, and then one with the HIring Manager. What comes after that - how big is the panel?
In person is usually 4 or 5 ppl
They have a softball case and otherwise mostly an Amazon style interview, complete with bar raiser. The category management leadership sucks and try to make sure you don’t end up under specialty or hard goods. They slot people into roles based on whatever is highest priority, unrelated to your experience or interests.
Agree with this. If you have given Amazon interviews, this would be very similar except prepare for Chewy's operating principles. @waverace64 just wondering what's wrong with HG/Specialty? Curios if there are any room for improvements.
Specialty gets screwed around a lot by leadership because there’s not a consistent vision, bad for career. HG just has some idiots in key leadership positions that make working there hell. They are also expanding the number of management layers to compound this effect.
