Hi all - I will have my interview at Google Finance Team in a few days. My background is in banking and this is my first interview at a tech company so I wonder if anyone can help walk me through the interview process. What are the typical interview questions? What are the expectations? And is there anything else I should look out for? Look forward to hearing from you. Thank you!
Is it for Google Ventures or more of a Corp fin role?
Also, how was it at SVB?
It is for Google Ventures. SVB is great. The company has a strong culture. There are a lot of smart people and things always change at SVB. It is a good company to work for esp if tech lending or fund finance career is what you’d like to pursue!
Use specific examples of stories from your career, instead of "I usually..." Demonstrate strong ethics and a comfort with ambiguity.
Thank you so much, @vW53! This is very helpful!
Good luck. Show some empathy for your interviewer who definitely does not want to be doing wfh interviews right now :)
Be enthusiastic, read 10k, ask good questions, and probably avoid mentioning anything about how finance is not well respected at Google
😂
How many rounds did you interview? They only interviewed me once for less than an hour.
How did it go? I’ve always wanted to be part of GV. How did this opportunity come about?
Good luck!!
Thank you!
