Hi all, I have an upcoming Jane Street SWE interview and wanted suggestions on how to prepare and questions expectations in the interview. Any tips would be highly appreciated! TC: 190k, YOE: 2, LC count: 250 #finance #janestreetcapital #hudsonrivertrading #citadel #jumptrading
They have some blog posts around swe interviews on their website I found helpful. Focus on LC but explaining your approach in detail and communicating.
LC hard?
Just memorize the x86 assembly instruction set and you should be good.
Interviewed there. Just general LC questions. Practice speed the questions are not easy and take a while to code. No dp.
So you mean they were like LC mediums? Well known ones like number of Islands or random ones?
No i hadnt seen any of the questions on leetcode before the interview. After the interview i found one on lc and it was tagged hard, but i think it was on the easier side of hard and it was graph question. I still didnt see the other ones but they were hard medium/easy hards.
Op if i were you i would definitely not do this onsite. I had 500+ lc count under my belt and still couldnt crack it. The problem is that jane street is looking for a significant change in your resume to reinterview you. So if you interview now you wont be able to interview in a year again unless there is some significant change in resume. On the other hand, they are always hiring so it’s not like if you delay your onsite this opportunity will go away. If i were you i would tell them that you wanna do this later, prep for 3 more months and give it a shot. Not everyone gets the opportunity to interview w them to use it visely
if you have to ask
