Recently had an onsite with Pinterest. The feedback was that the current team decided to move on with the other candidate because of skills match but we really liked you as an engineer. We will sort out our backend engineering positions in other teams in a few weeks and will contact you back if you are still available. Any insights? What does this mean? Did I clear the interview or was this a nicer way of saying you failed. TC: 420k
Sounds like a no to me.
Hmm. Yeah, its a clear no for the current team but deciphering the few weeks part, is it a no for pinterest as a whole?
I would move on. If they were truly interested there would probably be little ambiguity. Nice TC btw.
Just like they said, looking for a team match internally. Give them some time.
Another thing to consider is that it's start of a new quarter. New projects spinning up, maybe they need time to understand their people needs. Give them time but of course continue to look.
Yeap, never stop looking unless you sign :)
Awesome, thanks for the insightful answer.
I got the same reply. Multiple trie questions during my onsite. I am assuming you interviewed with the seattle teams as well.
Wow, I didn’t know Tableau paid that well.
Stock growth and multiple refreshes. Its my current TC not my starting TC. Having a cliff soon, hence looking.
How much was ur starting offer?
