Does it have to be a yes in all 5 interviews?
It depends on the hiring manager and their managers. If the hiring managers and their managers/management like you, there is a good chance to get hired even if other interviews are borderline.
Thanks.. I didnt meet with manager's manager..
Agree.
Most hiring managers are a big puppet and dont have guts to take a decision even though they themselves like the candidate and there is just 1 no out of 6
This. depends on manager.
Usually all yes when I was a manager there. Especially team lead. Manager can override maybe one outlier but that person can’t be strong no. Or they might just add on another round to figure out any weak signals.
Thanks... I felt there is atleast one no... not sure if it would be a strong no.. will wait and see..
Did you hear back
Yes
Apple can ghost you even if you did well on all on all onsite interviews - personal experience 2 times 🤷♂️
Same 🤣
Same, 2 months after I moved to new company, I got a call back for one final HM interview 😂 found their process too disorganized.
Manager and manager's manager play a huge role in deciding. Good luck with decision.
Thanks Eagerbever
Which Role?

Its an automatic reject if they see you using an Android phone. Happened to my friend. Rocked all rounds but got rejected
Are you serious?
Google who cares? Why are you thinking about Apple?
I found out after I interviewed that the As Ap (as appropriate, basically if you're doing well, you meet with the AA at the end) gave me a no hire based on the fact that I didn't perform well on functions unrelated to my job. Based on his feedback, another interviewer flipped to no hire. The hiring manager went nuts and talked to HR and basically got me a "do over", because the guy that interviewed me (and voted no hire) was basically doing a favor for the hiring manager, and was a gatekeeping boob who felt all folks in org needed a certain skillset. Manager talked to the interviewers, told them I have an amazing track record working with them on contract and the loop was basically a formality. In the end, I got hired and got a solid offer. Very grateful for my (now former) manager going to bat for me.
Lucky you! Very rare to get such managers. Hope you return the favor forward by helping someone else 🙂
How did you get this much detail about your own interview process?

Yes. If there is a no or borderline someone has to be a strong yes.
Are you sure it’s the same for all teams?
Of course not, I have to be Tim Cook in that case. But this is generally what I have seen.
