People that ride loud motorcycles, what’s the motivation?
A recruiter from Booz Allen Hamilton reached out, and I'll be going through the interview process shortly for principal dev position. I would like to know what to expect -- LC difficulty, sys design, etc. -- during the interview process, as well as TC (I believe no RSU but big clearance bonus?) and the time it takes to obtain the clearance for bonus. I also heard that work doesn't get exciting until clearance comes through. Is this accurate? TC: Sr.swe 415k #boozallenhamilton #boozallen
Huh? Are you FTE at Google?
FTE
Used to work at booz. Y would you ever want to do that? Less everything tc prestige perks etc etc . Only reasons I can think of for joining are nationalism or gov job security.
isn't defense actually prestigious? working on awesome projects -- robotics, defense AI/ML -- rather than fake prestige to build better ad recommendations for cat litter lol
At these large companies The mostly likely scenario is you're going to work in a beige, windowless room, with a bunch of 40+ white dudes who haven't left the year 2006. If you want something interesting In defense go work at Anduril.
lol your definitely gonna make way less.
You'd be lucky to break 250 at Booz
Close friend is a director making less than that lol
Unless you 1099 with booz, you probably wont get more than 250 as an Sr SWE
Taking this path is an awful idea, IMO
Hahahaha. Well less than you’re currently on.
work or tc? I'm bored at work, as there's very little exciting project opportunities at Google. Not sure what to expect in terms of TC, but it'd be fun to work on cool government projects (unless those are exclusive to select few)
There’s cool problems in defense, but generally solved with terrible software and you’ll be bang your head against a concrete wall to try and incorporate good software practices and the TC will be lacking. The novelty will wear off quickly
