Ok guys here is an interview question (hypothetical) "Your wife calls and she tells your baby got hurt and you have got to come back home to take the baby to the doctor, it's 6pm now and you have a meeting at 7pm you have to attend otherwise your PM will report that you leave before 7 and the PM doesn't care" , what will you do" Answer this and I will tell you whether you will like being in Uber and whether you will be hired ;) be as detailed as possible. You can ask follow up questions . (The PM is not hot - for those who are having other thoughts)
f any company for that matter, you are not their most important, don't make them yours
shit man, did this really happen to you?
Why is the Wife having you come home to take the baby to the doctor? The answer is schedule her an Uber or if it's an emergency call 911.
Good answer - but will you go to the hospital ?
Obviously no, you are not on-call for the kid, if it were about the Uber service going down then yes, off course
Ask to reschedule and/or find someone to go in your place.. They will understand even Uber
family first. it is much easier to swap jobs. also, I would run from a PM scheduling meetings at 7PM.
I would find the PM and alert him/her to the immediate situation at home. I would ask to reschedule the meeting at a suitable time for the other attendees and keep my PM updated of the timeframe of my hurt baby. I am a reliable, responsible team member at work and follow through with all my commitments but when my family is hurt it has to take priority.
Very well thought out :)
common sense. anyone doing otherwise... well....
Why would the PM report that you leave before 7 for a family emergency? Who would that PM really report that to? Like, who really cares?
F uber
You are already in :)
And f ed
Wov. Your child is hurt and this is a valid dilemma?
Need to call child services on this parent
Very interesting - calling child services before or after the ambulance?
that's easy f uber
