I have first round portfolio reviews for SF and Dropbox on Wednesday. They give you some documentation for tips that'll I def read through but thought I'd reach out for any thoughts here as well. Both are lead/staff level roles. SF is service and commerce cloud and Dropbox for their new dash team if that makes any difference on the tips. I've already been told to use the STAR method for SF so will likely use for both. Thanks in advance! #design #interviews #ui/ux
I also interviewed Dash and didn’t pass the hiring manager. I have admin tool experience but the question that threw me off was “what kind of designer are you?” at the end after seeing my work so I was a bit like thrown off lol maybe cus they introduced themselves as a nordic designer. But I don’t identify myself as a specific designer since I’ve worked in big tech 10+ years. And when I asked HM questions about their management style, they answered very vague since they are still new to management. So I wasn’t butt hurt about the rejection lol
What is a nordic designer?
Oops haha their aesthetics is nordic style
I got dinged from a job at Dropbox after the final round years ago because they “just couldn’t feel my love for the brand.” Do whatever that is supposed to mean.
Yeah I also interviewed couple years back for another team but I do believe their interview process is a bit biased
what is the role?
They removed the job listing. But it's a role for Dash IT admin experience. Curious if you have any knowledge on how good that position is (team culture, project priority, etc). Thank you!

I was interviewing for the Dash role but didn’t make it past the hiring manager round since they were specifically looking for someone who has IT Admin Tool design experience
They asked for examples of that so I sent them some and they were still interested so I guess that's promising. I don't have a lot of IT work per se but a ton of Admin console kind of stuff.
Yeah I on the other hand have 0 IT admin tool design work haha but I have relevant experience designing for technical personas
