Interview with Mastercard

I got a call from Mastercard for an architect role. I attended the first managerial round. The manager was so inattentive and reluctant as if he was sure that a guy from Microsoft is not gonna join Mastercard. If you guys are so sure, why did you invite for an interview? #mastercard

TC or GTFO

Hi op, had somewhat similar experience at somewhat similar company. I guess tiers and perception do exist. They want to make sure you are actually invested and interested in joining. It takes a lot of effort to rollout offer so they need to make sure. I am not sure what it's called but I believe some universities reject students who they think can get into better schools. I would say same is happening here

Maybe. But it shouldn't reflect on the interviewer's body language.

I agree. They should be trying to sell the position

Be curious to know what group it was within Mastercard and where. I know a number of MA people in Dublin have gone to MSFT but less the case in the US.

I few months back I started to randomly apply to companies that I 100% knew wouldn't pay me what I was looking for and were just not a fit mainly to practice interviewing skills. I saw a lot of that in those interviews
