Depends on which team, but from friends experience, know your CV and expect questions on anything. They were interviewing for a security position but had an internship in their resume about self-driving cars and the interviewer went on a tangent because they were also interested in ML. Apart from that, depends on what security engineer position (appsec, IR, offsec, etc) and what level , but in general know your OWASP Top10, mitigations, some examples from recent work if you have and general security stuff.
I checked email and it didn't have references job post # attached to it. I logged into careers Portal at Paypal. It look like for their Cryptography platform group
Interesting…. As far as I know you should be aware of the team you are interviewing with, unless it’s like a career fair or something like that. But cool! So yeah read a bit on crypto security, but unless you applied directly to that position or if the description states you need to know a certain level of expertise, you should be good. Tbh there is not much to do but go with a positive mentality and of course prepare. If you wanted to search for PayPal posts here and maybe message someone from PayPal and ask about that team but the odds of finding someone on that team or even in security for that matter, are slim. Also, if you know who you are interviewing maybe look at their LinkedIn to maybe see if they have a specific team name there or if they post a lot about a specific technology or topic or whatever.
