Just completed the loop with the one of the Big 4 company for a position of Data Analyst. A job I can do in sleep. Have the same experience they are looking for working on SAS99. Need just SQL for technical skills. The Senior manager told me during the interview that I am unqualified and ended the call? Just wanna say fuck you! I spent 3 hr already talking to the other team members and I know I am qualified, the person working there who referred me knows I am qualified, better than many of your current employees and you just judged me in 15 mins that I am unqualified? What the fuck was that about? Did you see the resume before calling me in for the interview at least? Ok, I am not qualified for the job at least have the decency to let me know why when I have set aside 4 hrs of my time that day and we are still scheduled to talk for another 4hr. Be fucking professional. Interviewers be fucking professionals. #consulting #pwc #EY #delloite #kpmg #data #dataanalytics #datascience TC: 0 YOE: 1
First off, I don’t even know you but I’m sure you’re qualified, I don’t doubt that. Here’s the thing about interviewing, interviewers will find the most arbitrary, subjective thing about you they don’t like and all of a sudden you’re “not qualified.” All the power is with the people interviewing you. My point is, fuck em. Rejection, for any reason, is a thing you’ll experience more times than you care to. Change your mindset and look at interviewing as a transaction. You owe them nothing and they owe you nothing. So get thick skin, focus on what you can control, learn from the experience, and move forward. That’s all any of us can do when it comes to interviewing.
It's is but when you have been jobless for about 4 months you just want a job... Doing unpaid internship isn't going to pay bills... And I am doing 10 times the work being unpaid than I was when I had a decent job
Dude, I was unemployed for over a year after losing my job when covid started. 4 months is nothing. This might be tough to read, but your situation isn’t unique. You’re not the first person to be treated like shit during a job search. Buckle up, change your mindset, and keep moving forward.
Well that's odd, given how big the company is, I'd say report it to HR (I.e: tell your recruiter). That manager should not be doing interviews if that's how they deal with an "unqualified" candidate.
I don't know bro but feels like this is charades for me need to end!
