You are applying to companies across multiple domains (health insurance, IoT, automotive, networking etc). This is not a good approach. You need to have a clear targeting strategy. Identify 2 to 3 domains you wish to work in. Identify target companies in those domains. Polish your resume and position your profile to appeal to recruiters in your target companies.
So the problem here now is not getting the call, i was at that stage 2 years ago when i was in college. But now its more of cracking the onsite interviews. Each company has been different question. Even though i am learning and improving from my mistakes the next company interview is not at all what i am prepared or expecting for. even after looking questions on glassdoor and blind
If you’re not able to get optimal LC solutions, that’s probably a large part of the issue
Yeah another user also mentioned the same point
Good luck with the ones coming up!
Front end positions ask LC questions?
Yeah some companies do. Google has 2-3 rounds of algo based questions
Are they LC easy / medium? Any DP? should be easier than SWE roles right?
Is it because for frontend the range topics is enormous?
Yesss. It is always underprepared for the fee interviews
Good luck op you’ll crack interview with good TC 😊
Ever tried msft? They have HE every month
Msft is not hiring for frontend with 2 yoe they're hiring for FEE-II
I think going for general swe positions is probably easier. Front end specialists are expected to be amazing at front end
Yeah I tried for other positions thinking of it but still failing at them. But I'm passionate about front end position.
>LC and unit testing(failed writing unit tests) @OP, can you elaborate on what they expect for the unit tests here? Like do they expect you to use a testing framework such as Jest or JUnit to write test cases for the LC problem?
Have u tried mock interview or peer interview to get some feedback? Also u have to practice front end questions and design too, not just LC.
Yeah, I'm practicing for front end too building components, and did couple of questions from bfe
I would do more than a couple from bfe, review advance js concepts… how did u feel about ur interviews, were u able to solve all the questions? I would write down anything I didn’t do too well in and practice in case I get it again.
How are you applying for so many positions? Do you go to the individual company sites? LinkedIn? Or are working with a tech recruiter?
Mostly linkedin and it takes to the company site and sometimes recruiters reach out to me through email or LinkedIn.
No offence mate, but i feel you should practice a bit more by making personal projects from scratch . Just give yourself a challenge, let's say to make a tic tac toe game without refering a single line of code from internet.
Hey totally no offense taken, will take anything to get better. But the problem more has been ambiguity of interview which doesn't help to target the preparation. Like for Atlassian, they told me it's front end system design. So I prepared for jser and frontend design YouTube channels and they asked me api response pattern questions. So it's always being unprepared for the interview
Yeah - it’s a grind :( keep trying and don’t give up
Yeahh...
