Do y'all interview on company time too? Or am I the only bad guy. I attended 2 interviews on company time and I kinda feel a little guilty. TC: π₯ (lookup software engineer at Cerner on levels.fyi, sympathy/BTC donations accepted.) YOE: 4
Busybro : cerner may fire you if you come off as a baggage than true value add . I mean it's a for profit company, so both the employer and the employee can end it whenever they want .
Okay thx, but wut?? I understand what you said, but I don't get the context of your comment. Isn't that the case with any place? (At will employment). If that is just what you had on your mind and wanted to unload, sure, please feel free. My 2 cents: I think they should stop making mint chocolate, I guess whoever makes it has a choice if they want out..
Felt the same that I missed to connect the context after I submitted the comment. lol . My bad . I guess what I wanted to say was interviewing need not breed guilt as long as the delivery is solid and also quitting is fine as long as it's well thought out.
Always. As long as I accomplish my goals for the week, it doesnβt matter when I work or how many hours I put in anyway.
I guess it's just the toxic team culture for me, manager doesn't have the american work ethic, cares about if you are online or not, since wfh kicked in, multiple touchbases throughout the day.. maintains a f**king excel sheet with dates and all that says "3 days for coding" and the likes.. and expects me to memorize that sheet and know what's coming up and all..
Makes it feel like I'm in the right, but it's just that my ethics kick in when I do interview on company time π
I don't feel bad about anything I do at work. Fuck em.
So did you end up jumping ship? Haha
Of course, it's been a couple of months now.
If you feel bad then just work on a weekend once in a while
I worked while on PTO(accrued, not bulk π), work weekends regularly, figured I was worth more than what I was getting here so I decided to jump ship.
Definitely jump ship. I got a huge bump.
