Interviewing with Facebook, Google wants to set up an interview, tell Google about Facebook?

I’m interviewing with Facebook and am on the onsite interview stage. Due to schedule constraints my interview won’t be for about two weeks. A couple days ago, Google reached out and wants to set up an interview. When I talk with the Google recruiter in the prep call and they inevitably ask me “are you interviewing anywhere else?” should I mention my interview with Facebook? Or should I wait to disclose only if I get an offer? When the Facebook recruiter asked me the same question I said no (which was true at the time) and that I was a passive candidate. I’m honestly a passive candidate, but would definitely move for the right growth opportunity/product/offer. Both opportunities seem very compelling based on the information I have. Tell them so they'll speed up your process

Agree. Just tell them. It will never go against you. They are so numb and used to hearing it. They always expect /someone bring up a competing offer at the end of the process. Speed wise is up to you.

Given both companies are highly competitive and even the best candidates can’t guarantee an offer, is it wise to disclose now? There’s always the scenario where I disclose early, but don’t get an offer at one. Just trying to think through all scenarios. I also don’t necessarily need a fast process given I’m not actively looking.

Nothing will get a Google recruiter more excited than telling them they can steal Facebook's candidate. If you get offers from both prepare for a fun negotiation.

How do you think this plays out if I don’t get an offer at one, but both know I went through the other process? Both companies are highly competitive so offers aren’t guaranteed, even to the best candidates.

They will not give you a shittier offer because you didn't get an offer from their compedetor.

I usually tell them. It actually helps everytime. They expediate your process.

I wouldn’t tell. At least not before I have an offer from the other company.

Why?

I think you would come from a position of strength when you have an offer in hand. If you fail in the competitor’s interview, as a recruiter you can question your decision more if the candidate is on border
