I want to switch jobs desperately as my TC is very low for my experience. This is my 2nd company. I tried asking my manager for a raise because even all the campus hires in my team get paid double than me. He told me that he'll consider it but it's Oracle. They don't care. If and when I leave, they'll try to match the offer as I am the few people left in the team. People left faster than we could hire new people. Now coming to my preparation, I started it in November end last year and I remember being demotivated by the LC Easy questions. After solving about 60 problems, things started becoming clearer and I gained some confidence. I have done around 110 LC Problems(40% easy, 50% Med, 10% Hard). I am studying system design from Educative and YouTube. Here's what I am not good at : Dynamic Programming, LLD and Design Patterns. I am already working on these to become better at them. The problem is that I feel like my preparation would never end. I might keep doing LC and Design for the next 6 months and even then I wouldn't feel confident. I keep reading all the interview experience posts on Leetcode and keep thinking that "I would have definitely failed this one". My question to you guys is, when do I begin applying for jobs? What do I do to get over this fear of failure? My ex Manager really wants me to join his team at MSFT but I keep telling him that I am not prepared enough, I would fail. What is your current TC, Please mention the numbers As for the post, I was also in a similar state Here’s what I did: Segmented companies based upon the pay and the hardness of the interview So, Tier 1 (hard) - selected 2 orgs Tier 2 (medium) - selected 4 orgs Tier 3 (easy) - selected 2 orgs (Do LC on a daily basis too) Started to give interviews to Tier 3 and got offers It boosted my confidence and knowledge Gave interviews to Tier 2, Faced 2 rejections and got 2 offers It again boosted my confidence and knowledge Applied for more Tier 2, will give interviews in the upcoming weeks Tier 1 interviews are scheduled in a month So preparation is goin on for that
you mean tier 1s are scheduled in a month?

Apply to jobs and start interviewing right away. Prep will never end. You may start with startups/smaller companies first as practices. Once you've done a couple real interviews you'll get the "feeling" and maybe a handful of offers to boost your confidence. Don't procrastinate, opportunities may slip through like sands. In terms of LC prep I'll recommend reading this: https://leetcodetherapy.com/
Its true interview scare is real but keep interviewing, it'll help you to stay up to date, you won't loose your focus in useless activities, you'll meet great individuals who'll tell you how you can improve. I give interviews regularly even when am not looking for switch
