What’s the reputation of Intuit outside? If you are hiring and see it on a resume do you have a general positive or negative first impression? Why?
I see Intuit as somewhat comparable to Salesforce or VMware. Interview performance is what really matters though.
My intuition is to call you in for an interview and watch how quickly you can regurgitate leetcode solutions and url shortening service and parking lot class diagram on a whiteboard, same as google, same as Facebook, same as bobs software shop
I see intuit, Adobe, VMware, salesforce as tier 1A or 2. Some groups have pretty good talents, not hotshot mentality, some groups might be more advanced than the others.
Negative. That place is empty on fridays and is full of a bunch of people waiting to retire. They hype work life balance, unfortunately it attracts a lot of low performers.
Their stock has grown solid and steady over the past few years though. 50% yoy almost consistently. They must be doing many things right. Right?
Terrible co, terrible engineers and managers. I used to work there
I’ve been doing some blind searching. Do we basically agree that we are solidly tier 2?
The problem is it’s an old company and not doing cutting edge tech. Real, exciting innovation doesn’t happen there.
Is that the general sentiment folks have about us?
I would say neutral.
