Which company to join & why? Same TC - 335k senior software developer position Nvidia- platform team(infrastructure + devops role) where I would be developing this new platform/infrastructure using kubernetes operators to deploy applications to aws/gke and maintainence. Pros - stock appreciation higher. Chance to move to autonomous vehicles/deep learning team in the future Cons- devops kind of role Intuit - observability and analytics team part of data platform team solving problems like anomaly detection on platform data using machine learning. Pros - good interesting role Cons- intuit stock growth is really slow. Have heard about politics inside teams I have mostly been an application developer developing features on public cloud. #engineering #software #swe
Do you have a DevOps/SRE background?
No. I have application development experience of 4 years using kubernetes and 5 months of cloud engineer experience with anaplan
Nvidia seems like much more of a growth company and industry. Intuit seems like... old and boring. And kind of evil for continually lobbying to make taxes hard to deal with and file.
No, it's a new team building a platform to deploy deep learning applications
Wow! That’s some nice TC for 5 years. What level at Nvidia? IC4?
I love working here but if you’re looking for growth and are happy with a devops role then I would take Nvidia. However, data platform is very well respected and the role looks more interesting to me than the devops one. The TC is also solid for senior!
That’s some amazing TC, congrats. How did you even negotiate that with 5 YOE? Also, can you reveal the split?
What did you do OP finally ?
@op Can I DM you? I have an interview with Nvidia coming up for similar position. This would be very helpful for me. Thanks
Join nvidia
Why?
You wouldn't learn anything at intuit and people are just surviving here and not thriving to become better
