Thinking of investing in Pinterest stock. Seems like they managed to create a search engine that literally displays ads that people like. Only concerns are the 2020 runup and their competitive advantage. How difficult would it be for a company like Google to replicate such a search engine? Thanks!
Google can make an image search, but they can’t make a great consumer product that people want and love. Pinterest made something that’s both.
I’m 9k shares in. Been buying since 2019. ARPU is low but growing. Just given it’s current advised revenue and ARPU growth assuming ~700m MAU and 20 ARPU per user it will grow to $130b market cap. Analysts discount it to about $90-100 today assuming they mature in 2030, but it might be faster.
