Investing in Facebook Stock
Are folks vocal about not investing in Facebook due to the ethical reasons aware that they are indirectly investing via index funds or just too woke to notice that? Edit: To the folks not able to understand this, I’m talking about the hypocrisy that people just randomly comment about FB without realizing that they indirectly invest in it. If you’re are that against, stop investing in total market and/or majority of index funds, which no one won’t ;)

You can also make the argument that Airbnb is unethical because it messes up the housing market in various cities. Existing renters and homeowners are kicked out because landlords are doing Airbnb. Im sure you can make an argument for why most companies in SPY are “unethical“. If you want ethics, capitalist America is not the place for you.
Yea you are on right in spot basically they should ban internet itself even mobile which is bad for our mental health. What people don’t understand is anything in excess is bad for human being be it water, food or anything. So we need to use any platform for the right reasons and use it for the right purpose instead of blaming the entire platform. We as human beings are so good in always finding out what’s wrong with everything instead of seeing how can we best utilize what we have.

If you think about ethical reasons, you have to ban almost all big companies starting from Amazon, Google, Snap, Tiktok and generally internet ohh ya we should block oil/gas which is bad for our environment. I don’t understand why only Facebook. If one says something then everyone follows blindly.
