What app do you use to invest in India stock market? Can I invest in the stock market without having a bank account in India?#personalfinance #investments #stockmarket
There are a few ways to get exposure without an investment account in India. The two simplest are: 1. country or region-specific ETFs and mutual funds, eg iShares MSCI India ETF 2. Some Indian companies offer ADRs, like HDFC Bank. Just make sure you’re aware that ADRs can come with some extra fees. (Both of those examples are just examples, not recommendations!)
Sorry, just saw that your question was asking for an app. Most any brokerage will enable you to invest in these types of securities through your investment accounts, including through their apps. I personally use TD Ameritrade, soon to be Schwab, but there are plenty of others as well.
Why not use NRO demat account at any broker - HDFC, SBI etc? (It’s tricky to do that with NRE account though). When you sell you pay capital gains, just like everyone else.
Bad idea if you are in the US. There are so many rules and regulations for NRIs because of FATCA and limited investment opportunities. Besides, why do you want to invest in Indian stock market when you have the best equity market in US.
Facta restricts investment in mutual funds not regular stocks. But I agree Indian stock market is shit regulatory oversight is a joke . Corporate governance is family affair, baujee ka ashirwad and despite of all SEBI rules every once in a while there are cooked books, shell companies that are used enrich promoters out of investors money and most importantly the joker they re-elected is not done f()cking the country yet.
Indian stock market is nowhere close to the maturity of the US stock market that is true. And as far as reelecting the joker to office, it was a choice between the joker and a joke for prime minister anyway.
