Investor visa (eb5)
I have decided I have had enough with the never ending gc backlogs and the constant worry of layoffs and I am ready to part ways with a good chunk of my life savings for an eb5. Can anyone that has gone this route please share their experience and things to look out for? Thanks in advance. T.C 450k
Unfortunately it’s not quite a clear way out. I started the process back in 2018, with an EB5 PD of June 2018. All the funding was from stock grants earned in the US, project was already cleared - should’ve been relatively quick for the I-526 approval (the EB5 equivalent of I-140). That still took 2.5 years. Filed my I-485 in December 2020 (two months after filing one for an EB3 downgrade with PD June 2014). Figured one of them would come through in the next year. The EB5 program was suspended in July 2021, reinstated in March 2022, so nothing moved. Then there was a brief period where my PDs were current for both EB2 and EB5. Of course neither came through. It’s been 4.5 years since the investment, and I’m still waiting for my *temporary* green card. /endrant
