We have an innovative idea/technical solution that has a ton of demand in our market. We are purposely quiet about it because of the market gap for our technology. Through a back channel (and in writing) we discovered our VCs leaked our product ip/road map to another one of their portfolio companies. Is this a breach of fiduciary responsibility? The other company will 100% be competing with us for the same customers.
Big lawsuit on your VC?
We are calling lawyer’s tomorrow. Will see, I don’t know the laws
At amzn?
yes and … there’s nothing you can do about it
Part of me feels like this, why do you mention say it
VC do that all the time.
Unfortunately, this is par for the course. It’s upto founders to know VCs and their portfolio companies before sharing much details. The lawyers may not be able to help here. We had same experience before!
Unless your company had them sign a NDA, there's nothing you can do unless you can prove the information they shared causes actual "harm" to the business - which it hasn't because it is still in concept versus an actual product or service currently available in the market Im not an attorney
They are on the board and have fiduciary responsibility, hard to imagine it’s legal
