This 4Q2020 number paints a stark picture for the rest of their competitors. On a worldwide basis, Amazon's average monthly unique visitors combined with mobile monthly active users hit a total of 1.9B in the quarter - a large lead over No. 2 eBay (EBAY; 464M), No. 3 Walmart (WMT; 419M), No. 4 Apple (AAPL; 304M) and No. 5 MercadoLibre (MELI; 235M).
This is a poor understanding of antitrust
Why? They have already been sued in the past by several of its competitors on that list for practices that undermine free market operations.
Of course they were sued by THEIR COMPETITORS, why wouldn't their competitors sue them?
Amazon can _buy_ antitrust a thousand times with pocket change, if they want.
US anti-trust laws checks for companies exploiting their dominant position to the detriment of the consumer. Amazon is all about customers. Antitrust cannot touch Amazon, not under the current interpretation. Besides, Amazon will always be playing the card that they are still a single percentage of the overall retail landscape.
👏
Under the current interpretation is the key. But they have been itching to change the interpretation because it hasn’t kept up with the new age robber barons
If they were charged for antitrust violations, what would it be? Selling own products along side 3rd party and advertising them over 3rd party? What else would be on the table?
