Is AWS culture better than Amazon?
Glassdoor seems to have a better review for AWS than Amazon. WLB and growth seems to be better, can someone confirm? Recently got an offer for data scientist role at AWS.
WLB is definitely worse. I find the culture better and growth better (technically), but L6 has a higher bar here.

How high do you need to get in the bar to pass? I bottom up’ed on 1.8 L tequila so I am sure I was pretty high but still got downleveled to L5 at 10 yoe

L6 at AWS is incredibly low bar. Seem to require no technical expertise or management experience/abilities. Just need to be dishonest. If you can put people on PIP with no real data then you are ready for L6.

And L7 raises the bar even more of not doing anything all day except slacking. Totally non technical, unethical and good in scamming AWS customers money.
AWS is a million times better than Amazon. They still work you hard but the compensation is good and they have great resources to leverage

AWS and Amazon is basically the same.
They are all the same. Sweat shop where the employees are treated like trash.
AWS is worse. If you are female or a minority, stay away from AWS. Trust me on this one.

I think I’d prefer bad over really bad. My wlb is already really bad anyways
