Is Amazon becoming the next IBM?

AWS still has alot of juice in it. Plenty of untapped markets that probably give us years if not decades of runway. But I just can’t help but feel the innovation isn’t there. We make a shit ton of money, but retail isn’t really profitable. AWS has high margins but it just seems like it’s not the same as it was before. Maybe IBM isn’t a good comparison. Amazon is still a great place to collect a paycheck. And everybody in the country probably uses Amazon/AWS more than most companies. It’s just that I feel like we’ve become something else. Idk, it’s late. Happy Thanksgiving y’all! TC: $600K

Amazon has more innovation than meta, Apple, Google, and Microsoft. So there’s that at least.

TBH I think now that Jeff is in his celebrity phase, Amazon isn’t as sharp as it once was. I also think Amazon has lost its focus on the long term and is now pursuing short term incremental wins because Andy needs to show Wall Street something positive or else the stock won’t do anything good.

AWS is the modern mainframe cash cow that IBM has milked for decades. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Aws had a great run luring with migration story and free money to clients, they have an uphill task now competing with other CSPs since industry is no more buying that life and shift pitch
