Is Amazon like UC Berkeley and Google like Stanford?
Berkeley kids bash Stanford but secretly admire their campus/reputation/network. Stanford kids treat Berkeley kids like bros/sis but secretly look down on them. The truth is Berkeley kids will join Stanford kids in a heart beat if same financial aid/scholarships Agree?

Lol who at Amazon bash google π€£. Amazon is tier3 of tier1 companies. Build infrastructure is crap and Amazon openly said it would rather invest in business than invest in better infra. Amazon hires mediocre coders without interviews. Student Programs only do online assessments and extend offer letters

Berkeley, Stanford, Amazon, Google are all great.... If you are in the right team/major. I think there is general prestige as described by OP, but none of these places are monolithic. There are crap teams and crap majors everywhere. I've had opportunities to be in all 4, and my choices ultimately boiled down to the specific groups of people I would be interacting with. No regrets.

not a great analogy of choice but if I had to stick to the school theme: Berkeley is known for cool down to earth kids that are super smart and creative (aka Google) Stanford known as fake snobby rich kids that are too white to handle imperfectly trimmed trees on campus (more like Facebook vibe)

Having worked at both companies and degrees from both schools, I agree with the characterization.
