Is Apple Pay and Samsung Pay in USA same as WhatsApp payments, GPay and Phonepe in India? What’s Gpay equivalent inUS
#tech I have used Gpay in india. I don’t see people paying via QR codes in USA. Is Gpay different between these two countries?
India’s gpay uses UPI, no UPI in the states. Use your card via Apple Pay or Venmo
Soon UPI is planning to expand their footprints and go internationally and it may come to western developed counties also but here big payment network corporation and governments may not want developing countries governments owned payment network (Like UPI, Rupay, NPI etc) even when their overhead and fees are less.
Digital payments is one area India did everything right. The speed and convenience of multiple types of payments is truly amazing. UPI has been a game changer in this regard. There is no way incumbents like Visa or MC will allow something like UPI to flourish here. Thanks Rahulji!

USA is surprisingly behind QR code payment adoption than India, May be because people here are too comfortable with their plastic card payments. India revolutionized the digital payment using various networks including governments own Rupay network which is killing US payment network giants like VISA and MasterCard. But paying with NFC is much quicker compared to using QR codes.
qr payments are not safe at all. I see restaurants using qr code to replace menus and not only does the experience suck but someone can easily make a copy and redirect u to a malicious site. Also NFC is safer. faster, and way better
