Come on, a company like Alibaba is never going to just disappear. People act like they don't have massive potential in cloud computing space. CCP just needs to stop jerking us around and please LET ALIBABA F*CK Agree?
if baba revenue was shown with an s-curve, it looks like we could be past the steepest part. Announcing a need to "reinvest" all incremental profit into sustaining revenue growth? Competition & growing saturation is making revenue growth harder & more costly to sustain & margins are starting to come down. Revenue growth can still come, but it won’t be as rapid as before.
Why is it hard to imagine they disappear? CCP showed they can disappear it's founder.. lol.
Very undervalued. The CCP just wants to put in a show. Remind people they are to be seen as in charge. After that message sinks in, it's back to the original high priority goal, generate success stories domestically that can compete with foreign giants and act as a success/prestige story for the party. The CCP may spank BABA, but like a proud helo parent, will never let it actually fail. Quite the opposite.
Are you kid
This is based on reading other people's DD not my own. BABA cooks the books with how they value their investments. These are dummy numbers but the idea is basically, they buy 45% of a company at some valuation x. Then a few months later they buy 5% more at valuation 3x. Now the entire 50% valuation in their books is at the 3x valuation because that's the "latest" valuation. This artificial increase in valuation of their investment counts as earnings and about 30-40% of BABA's earnings come from this bs. If you just count their actual recurring product revenue, the PE ratio is much higher. And this, kids, is why you shouldn't rely on Yahoo Finance.
That last line 👌
I don’t understand how buying another company increases earnings?
Butt hurt op spotted
If my entire portfolio crashed 90% it would still be worth more than yours, poor man 😂
Same ques….Then y butthurt
My 50% portfolio (6 digit) is just BABA.
feeling bad for you
How intelligent
Definitely undervalued. But may go to $100 if US stops listing China securities.
