I have been thinking about this...the claim that Blind is anonymous. But really, is it? Who owns Blind and the data here? There are plenty of smart Engineers and PMs here - thoughts?
Regardless of the specifics of this app, I generally try to behave on the internet as if everything I do and say can be linked to my name and social security number, and also sent along with my identity to my friends, family, and coworkers.
Smart PM...lol
Oxymoron
It's not anonymous. They log the device ID when you post. With device ID they can track you down
Even it it were blind, it still can listen, taste, feel, and smell.
Do you have your balls at it's place?
Ironic FB is asking this question
Lol someone caught that :)
Instead of direct commands not to post on even “anonymous” platforms (HEAVY air quotes) attempts are made to dissuade would-be users (respective employees) from sharing their thoughts and question the security of the platform itself. I imagine some HR departments getting insecure about staff jumping ship, candidates offer-shopping, and comparing with current employees. Employers love to use tactics to shame people out of asking for a competitive offer.
Yes it is anonymous. If you log into blind using company wifi, you can be found out as they can track activity in the network. At this point they look at who received a Blind invite and cross check it. In smaller companies with less employee base it can be easy to find potential people who can relate to and speak on a topic. If you type out all your previous companies in chronological order, then anyone can do a quick linkedin search on you and find out.
They prob sell all your data just like every other company out there
I've been thinking about how tired of this question I am. It gets asked every month.
