Box has always been very conservative with hiring. I will be surprised if there are layoffs. Most people voting probably don't work here
If we had mass layoffs I don’t know how we could function tbh.
I’m not sure about recent times but Box has had fairly high churn rate, to a point where they asked people to stop sending farewell emails on their last days (I’m guessing to keep this quiet from other employees).
I hate to use the word safe nowadays but you never know. The reason we aren’t having layoffs right now is because we are very conservative in hiring and didn’t go crazy during the pandemic. We did have retention issues when the market was insane bc of not as competitive TC but our culture kind of blunted some of the impact. We aren’t seeing pay raises this year so we aren’t immune and hiring has slowed dramatically but no layoffs for now.
I def think box is very safe, especially so when compared to other SaaS/cloud. Hiring was sooo conservative during pandemic, with high churn, AND moving some headcount to Poland. Basically 1-2 years ahead on cost reduction. Lots of mismanagement in the past, but these moves were correct. Additionally, I do not think it would be possible for Box to function very long with any significant headcount reductions. And I think leadership is well aware of this. The poll results baffle me. Must be doomers just voting without knowing shit.
How’s the wlb & culture at box?
The culture is great. WLB can depend on the individual and the team they are on.
it looks like there were people laid off from box yesterday
I don't think so, where did you hear this
some box recruiters and sourcers posted on linkedin yesterday about it. you can probably just search "box laid off" on linkedin to see them
So many bots from Box in here. We had recruiters layoff recently. Nobody is safe.
It was 9 people, that's not really comparable to what's going on at other companies
I don't think there were any layoffs at Box ever. I don't even know anyone being PIPed from Box
How's their TC?
Competitive, best performing saas company in 2022, and profitable.
