In my opinion, Christmas is an American secular holiday that used to be Christian. There's nothing Christian about modern Christmas (Santa Claus, elves, reindeer, presents, Christmas tree, decorations). It is now celebrated all around the world as the canonical western holiday, including in Japan where its customary to get KFC for Christmas. What's Christian about that?
I think it’s secular BUT I also think it doesn’t matter. Christmas was originally meant to celebrate the birth of Jesus, whom was a very selfless person with amazing lessons. Whether he was really the son of god or not, it doesn’t matter. What matters is that Christmas is a celebration of selflessness and love.
Isn't modern Christmas more of a celebration of consumerism?
Depends how you celebrate it
I'm not religious at all but choose to embrace Christmas because I like it. Even non-Christians in other countries enjoy Christmas. Guess it was just a good idea.
Christmas was stolen by the Catholics from pagans.
Exactly
Nothing about Christianity is original. It survived and spread by latching itself on native traditions and claiming them for Christianity. Claiming festivals and traditions of natives is an extension of The Doctrine of Christian Discovery.
Christ-mas it's kinda in the name
The month of January is named after the God Janus, does that mean January is an ancient Roman holiday?
Uhh no one said January was a holiday?
Just enjoy it. Pretty sure God does not have a religion.
Christian here. It's secular.
Christmas is Christian now. People celebrate it in different parts of the world because (a) Christianity is evangelized to many "unreached" parts of the world (b) people just want to follow West.
If they're doing it to follow the West, why is it Christian? Wouldn't it be just a Western holiday then?
Christmas is 'murica. shopping, traveling, celebrating. So much murica. Beautiful. God bless America. By that I mean lots of money since God is a fable.
It depends what it means to himself or herself. If you observe Christmas as religious, it is religious. If not, it is secular.

Just enjoy it. Who cares what label people put on it.
This is what I tell my babe. “Babe who needs a label on what we’ve got.” Then I do bong rips.
