Title.
Most democrats I know essentially think the southern US border should be an open border
No
"...I know..." Solid evidence.
Supporting refugees that are victims of human rights violations is not the same as supporting illegal immigration. It's complicated and if you don't do your due diligence, maybe that's what it looks like.
Fact: most of the “refugees” that Democrats talk about that pass their credible fear interview do not end up applying for actual asylum. They just disappear. Those who do apply for asylum have about a 20 percent chance of succeeding, even under Obama gov’t standards. This is economic migration.
That's fair. It also points out many flaws in our immigration system. In every system there are people that cheat it--that does not mean we should give up on or ignore those that need help. It's all unfortunately stupid expensive.
I think that there should be “open borders” to migrants. But I’m not a Democrat voter 🤷♂️ The Democrat politicians just keep proposing more border enforcement and fences (rather than walls) and their “pathway to citizenship” is just creating longer queues for legal migration. The process should be straight forward without quotas or limits on certain kinds of people migrating. The horrible legal immigration process is why many poor people or people fleeing violence come without documentation. A straightforward approach would eliminate smuggling of people and the underground economy that exists due to migration restriction. It would mean that undocumented migrants would not have to fear authorities, actual migration data would become available (since people don’t have to try and live underground) and so on. US border policies and repression are the crisis, not migrants themselves.
Why are there two yes options?!?!
What kind of ridiculous shite is this nonsense?
It's obvious they are. Sanctuary cities. LAX border Control. Anti ice anti enforcement of immigration laws. DACA...shall I continue
The blatant mentions that walls are racist for keeping the Mexicans out
