I’m considering applying to new positions in the next few months. I’ve noticed a lot of Disney opportunities on LinkedIn. Is Disney a stable location to work at in this current economy? Are all the streaming services stable in worsening economic times? TC: 140k
Imo disney and particularly disney+ has a lot of money.
Can't speak to Disney corporate proper, but Disney Streaming is stable and growing. The biggest offices for my area of company are NYC and Santa Monica, but also a good bit of remote as well. edit: also to add remote pay is pretty strong. Not full NYC or LA rates but usually better than local (ymmv)
I’m seeing corporate roles offered in CA /NYC, do you know if they would consider remote? Also was talking to a recruiter and manager/senior manager start with two weeks PTO. That seems super low.
What are the benefits like?
Not crazy culture like Amazon. Pretty decent place if you are in the Disney Streaming division and work with a good manager. Great wlb so as a parent with kids, I stick around. They also readjusted the comps this year.
What are the benefits like?
This is very very team dependent. Some of these DMED teams have like 145% attrition over the past year due to various reasons. Gotta do your due diligence during interviews.
There’s upcoming layoffs coming Don’t sign anything
Lol which company isn’t laying off? So op shouldn’t sign any new offer? Even if they don’t have one?
Don't people's entertainment budgets end up being one of the first things to go in hard times? Edit: Looks like I'm wrong. Preliminary research shows that people might invest more in entertainment or not change spending. Interesting.
Kudos for doing the research, coming back and editing your response. Seriously. I wish more people had the backbone to admit when they're wrong.
I think people will subscribe since it's sub 20 for most. Compared to cable, this is fairly cheap for one or two max. Then they'll drop em off they go over. People want some type of entertainment.
