I hear contradictory statements from different folks. Some say that hiring is heating up, and you can demand salaries of early 2022, but others say 25% less TC and barely anyone hire. I see a few good Full Stack roles 220k base with 200k +RSU, but not sure if better wait. Current TC $350k, but want to leave hedge fund for better wlb.
Stay at citadel dude... you have a good thing going why give that up
Pretty much communicated by management that my projects getting replaced by kids with 1-2 years of experience that get higher TC
Doesn’t surprise me about Citadel.
Speaking only for Amazon, I believe most teams are through with their 2024 operating plan first pass, and the direction I’ve heard is flat HC, meaning no incremental new HC, only backfill. Although AI/LLM teams are probably exempt from this directive. If economy improves in 2024, I could see an out of plan HC approval on case by case, but it’s not in the current plan.
As someone in the market with minimum interview prep, I was able to crack a few offers. Yes, TC is not as high as before but it is picking up again. If you are a senior, you can crack some offers. I don't know about entry-mid engineers.
Yeah 15 years of experience, but never really needed practice Leetcode as always get hired for skills
What’s your experience mostly in? Any particular domain expertise?
