Is Facebook worth it?
With all the bad press around Facebook, is it a good time to jump ship and head over to work at Facebook?
Most of the things that make this a great place to work dont change because of press. What are the reasons that would have you place fb high in your lost without bad press?
Absolutely worth it. The bad press is just noise around the edges once you get settled into your work.

Yes, bad press exists in order to get those journalists paid because it’s much easier to get eyeballs. The company is still doing well
Media hates FB because FB is their competitor. Ignore mainstream media.
How is FB their competitor? It’s not like FB has its own reporters and news media content. If anything FB helps the media by allowing people to more easily access media content.
It’s not about the news articles themselves, it’s about control. FB now gatekeeps people’s attention, and mainstream media doesn’t like that.
Every big tech company at this point has done shitty things and had shitty press. It’s a fact of life. The public eventually moves on. More importantly, Facebook has good leadership and owns Instagram, which is basically the only social network that matters today. As long as FB keeps hiring the best and brightest it will be fine. And I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
