I hate the stress I'm having at FB and how everything is all about PSC and growth. At my level of income, I'm satisfied and would prefer more time to focus on my health and passion. Is Google definitely more stress free? I'm willing to take a hit at my career growth for more time to focus on my health. Shit I won't even mind getting downleveled to an E3 if I can keep my TC. Anyone done the switch? TC : 240k YOE : 2.5 years
Ah ahahaha! I moved from fb to goog. Compared to fb, g is a snooze fest! Low expectations, low performance, low execution. As much money for sure, if you can nail the interview, but of course, equity growth will probably be slower unless Waymo starts producing $$$
There is no Psc this half. What level are you?
No but this half has ended and there is one next half. Hinted that I'm a 4.
I've heard that Google is less stressful, however in my interview/team match convos at G, multiple people used the word cutthroat to describe the culture. That said, for both companies it probably depends on the org and team but G is probably more chill overall than FB.
Google interviewers & hiring managers literally said "cutthroat"? What were they thinking lol
Google cloud seems to be not so Google
Yup much less stressful except for some teams. Try not to end up in those.
How are you 240k tc with 2.5 yoe? Are you not taking into account refreshers/ stock appreciation
I find it stressful. But I’m sure it varies from team to team.

What's PSC? Come to msft keep your TC and a lot better WLB.
Lol, he won't be able to keep the TC for sure. I don't think MS will offer TC, even if they did the TC growth will be far far less
Msft offers good if you are at a good comp. And OP mentioned he is not looking for growth for a few years
