Google better than most still, right. Still got more perks than most generous but smaller companies have got.
No
Maybe
That place went downhill fast, unfortunately, and the current CEO has been making moves of outsourcing lots of jobs. Having a really bad CEO can destroy a good company. They really need a new one but I wish the old one came back. I would try to go back if that happened
Depends on the location and org
It highly depends on the team. Working with AI experts at Google has been great. Other teams, especially those that are cost centers, are rough
What exactly do Cost centers mean? They don’t generate revenue? As against what?
Yes, cost centers don’t generate revenue. Like Finance and HR teams
Depends on the team and what you do. Perk wise still great. I'll be the sample that says it's great, but won't speak for others.
I was extremely unimpressed. Depends on the team of course, but I felt like my colleagues up and down were pretty ineffective, and 90% of the work was just politics. Morale was awful and this was before the layoffs started. Compensation wasn’t very good either. Still worth joining for a year or two for the brand name…..
In GCP compute and I think it's great
Pays well and decent work life balance. Just boring as heck.
